This is founder experience, not a CharisForge client engagement. Andrew worked on this as backend engineer, before or during CharisForge’s formation.

01 · Context

What the platform needed.

Diba operates a live fintech platform handling customer wallets and transactions. Fintech systems carry a different bar than most software: transaction handling has to be correct every time, APIs need to be predictable for the teams and partners building on them, and customer-facing functionality like support needs to work in real time.

02 · Engineering challenge

What made the work meaningful.

Wallet operations and payment workflows needed secure, consistent handling under real usage, authentication and API design had to hold up for other teams integrating against them, and the platform needed real-time in-app support so customers could get help without leaving the product.

03 · Contribution

What Andrew worked on.

Andrew worked as a backend engineer on Diba's platform, contributing to wallet transaction handling, payment workflows, secure API design and authentication, and a real-time in-app support chat feature. The engagement went well enough that the same team brought him back for a second, larger platform, the 10Billion NGO backend described below.

04 · Engineering approach

How it was built.

Wallet and transaction logic was built with Django and PostgreSQL, with Redis backing the real-time support chat so messages stayed fast under concurrent load. API endpoints were secured with JWT-based authentication, and payment workflows were integrated against external payment APIs with an emphasis on predictable, well-defined request and response contracts other engineers could build against.
